Level 2 Award in Christian Counselling

The course is run over four months, with attendance once a month, on a Friday evening 6pm – 9pm and Saturday 9.30am – 4.30pm

Is this the right course for me?

The course is for people who would like to gain awareness of basic listening skills and Christian counselling theory. The course offers experiential learning and the opportunity to practise counselling skills.

The following skills are taught and emphasised throughout the course:

  • Differences between Pastoral Care, Ministry and Christian Counselling
  • Empathy
  • Reflection
  • Unconditional positive regard
  • Genuineness
  • Congruence
  • Non-judgemental care
  • The importance of the relationship within the counselling process
  • Ethics, practice and boundaries, supervision and on-going training
