It would seem that the e-Ietter could be attached to anything these days. The concept of distributing material electronically has blossomed to embrace virtually all business functions – from marketing to sales to stock control. One area that has recently been included in this scenario is the ability to design products in real time using Internet technologies. This particular area of Internet technologies is still in its infancy due to the large amounts of data that need transferred. However collaborative design, that is using different people in different working environments in different countries to combine their talents to design and manufacture a product as seamlessly as possible was up until now an unattainable dream. This was the due to the problem of transmission of CAD Models.
