This week has seen the release of two key research publications revolving around the fundamental 14-19 agenda. They specifically focus on the application of the 14-16 provision and explore the practical challenges posed to all involved. The publications, avalible from the LSN site are:
- What works for learners 14 -16: This report contains the findings from six case studies of 14-16 provision in further education (FE) colleges in the West Midlands. Managed by practitioners within the field, each case study focuses on different aspects of the 14-16 provision and contributes to a comprehensive set of overall recommendations.
- Behaving like Adults: This is the first study of its kind to research into the views of institutions, teachers and more importantly learners themselves regarding the 14-16 agenda and to ascertain the effectiveness of centres at meeting the needs of the younger learner.
