This is the fourteenth year of the prestigious awards programme that rewards excellence in provision and innovation in colleges across the UK. Along with the obvious kudos that winning brings is a financial reward of usually around £5k; this often helps cover the cost of preparing the submission. And successful colleges can display the Beacon Awards winner’s logo on their website and marketing materials too. There are 22 awards up for grabs but the DEL have not sponsored a separate NI category this year (DEL still does support the overall initiative however). The prospectus for the annual awards has been published and can be downloaded from the AoC site.
